The Flaming Stars sign to Ace Records
After ten years of the band's very enjoyable relationship with their record
company Vinyl Japan UK Ltd, the label went into receivership last year.
However, the band have now signed to Ace Records in London, and will be
recording a new studio album this spring, for release towards the end of the
summer.
In the meantime, a 42-track double-CD compilation of some highlights of their
Vinyl Japan days will be released by Ace on their Big Beat label in April. This
will be titled LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT - Singles, Rarities and
Bar Room Floor-Fillers 1995-2005. Containing all the Single
A-sides, representative tracks from all seven studio albums and a selection of
rare tracks, some of which have only previously apppeared on 7inch vinyl B -
sides or compilations. It will have a running time of around two hours twenty
minutes, and comes complete with a full-colour 16 page booklet with extensive
sleevenotes and photographs from the band's career to date. All Vinyl Japan UK
records are now of course deleted because of the demise of the company.
The band would like to say thanks to all the fine people who've worked at Vinyl
Japan UK over the years for their support and friendship, especially Claire,
John, Paddy, Lois, Sophie, Spencer and Julian.
The website for Ace Records can be found
here.
